A recent survey indicates that a significant number of Americans are actively adopting sustainable living practices this summer. The study, which polled 2,000 adults, found that 75% aim to reduce their environmental impact through conscious lifestyle choices.
Seasonal factors play a role, with 64% acknowledging that summer makes eco-friendly habits more accessible. Consequently, 69% are adjusting their routines to be more sustainable during this period.
Common green practices include recycling (78%), minimizing waste (66%), conserving water (64%), and reducing electricity usage (58%). Additionally, 56% are opting to drive less, and 51% prioritize purchasing locally sourced products.
The survey also highlights a shift towards mindful consumption, with many respondents emphasizing the importance of buying fewer, high-quality items and avoiding plastic packaging. Tips shared include carrying reusable kits and incorporating new habits that become second nature over time.
Hydration and nutrition are also focal points, with 74% favoring water-rich foods like watermelon, strawberries, and cucumbers to stay hydrated during the summer months.
